I want the magazine to be a mixture between the punk, make your own political visuals created by such collectives as Gran Fury and Girl Germs and the contemporary issues LGBT communities are facing; such as Donald Trump, marriage equality, conversion therapy and general homophobic hatred. 

Writing a brief for submissions -

pink magazine is a currently just a concept, but with contributions we are hoping to Crowd-fund it to success. This brief is set for creatives to have the opportunity to get involved in being in the magazine. 

pink manifesto

- pink magazine is a queer publication - fighting against contemporary LGBT press and creating a mag filled with real life stories, issues and comedic value just like the good old days.

- The magazine will mainly initially rely on crowdfunding of people wanting to purchase a copy to produce it.

- Any adverts/brands featured within will agree to fairly represent the LGBT community and not just use representation for the purpose of capitalising on a niche market.

- All artists, musicians, writers and contributors to the magazine are members or in active support of the LGBT community and related activism.

- We aim to both make political & social commentaries and purely entertain.

THE BRIEF

The brief to choose a product highly marketed and advertised and preferably relevant to the queer market. From this product, design a magazine advert (any format) that takes a satirical approach to societies view of queer culture. 

Consider ways in which advertising uses sexuality as a consumer tactic particularly within historical examples of ads. The 'punnier' the better. All submissions featured will quote the artist so please include your name and relevant contact information (social media, email, website ect.) The final submission date is December 1st. Other submissions will be taken for the magazine for gender, sexuality and LGBT related creative & literature work. If you have any submissions past this deadline please feel free to still submit but your work may not be considered. Please send all submissions to pinkmaag@gmail.com
